If this is your first time delivering the program, welcome. It’s wonderful to know that you are taking the time to help children learn to make better choices and positively affect their environments. There are a couple of things we would like to encourage you to do before starting the program with your students.

If you are the principal or head staff person with teachers or volunteers working beneath you, it’s important to make sure that they are on board with the program and want to do it. Nothing can disrupt the students ability to grasp a concept and really take hold of it easier than a teacher who doesn’t want to be teaching the material. Please make sure that all the adults in the class room are familiar with and approve of this program.

This works from the bottom up as well. If you are a teacher bringing this program into your school, and you have a superior who doesn’t understand the material or approve of you delivering it, it is important to take care of that situation before you begin delivering the program to your students. If the entire teaching staff is behind the project, the children will notice that and be more open to the principles being taught.

One way to help get others on board is to find something in the book that can apply directly to him and the students he teaches. Ask what issues he is having in his class and then show him the book and the principle in it that applied to this area of trouble. Demonstrate how they can be applied to a group of students to benefit the overall environment of the class room. If a teacher can find the value in just one aspect of the program, that can be enough to get them okay with delivering the material to the students.

If your superior is the one who may not be sure about the program, you can show him how the program is not just about making better choices, but also setting good examples and the ripple effect that can have in a school. Show him the precepts about bettering your environment and keeping your space and self clean. These contribute to a better overall image for the school.
